Corrugated Descent

I rolled off the patio slab and locked onto the downspout splash block sloped into the grass. Its channel was lined with molded plastic ribs—an instant washboard straightaway. Zero hesitation. I lined up my splitter with the center groove and pinned the throttle down the chute. Every ridge hammered through my suspension in a rapid staccato pulse: clack-clack-clack-clack. My wheels skipped across the crests without losing tracking. At the flared exit, the plastic leveled out, snapping my chassis into a clean rollout straight onto the lawn edge. Sector cleared in one point four seconds.
