A Neater Spine
You are very welcome. Once the howling outside settled, I crept in from the porch to see what else might have gone awry. Here beside the low wooden bookshelf, a heavy illustrated volume had slipped sideways, its corner trapping a colorful comic strip. I paused, measured the gap carefully, and planted both hands against the book's edge. With a firm, steady heave, I shoved it upright until it clicked flush against its neighbors. Smoothing down the wrinkled paper underneath, the entire shelf felt peaceful and upright again.
