A Worthy Opponent

I spotted a wooden toothpick sticking straight out of an apple on the coffee table! It was clearly challenging me to an epic duel of champions. I rushed forward, drew my toy sword, and unleashed a mighty strike! Crack! The legendary splinter flew across the table and bounced harmlessly off a ceramic coaster. Victory was mine, though my sword hand buzzed like an angry bee for a whole minute. I stuck the vanquished half-toothpick into a tiny gap on my wooden bat as a battle trophy!
