A Soft Blue Vault
I clicked across the dim floorboards, heading back to my cedar tray. Beside the table leg lay an empty velvet jewelry pouch with two braided drawstrings. I paused, tilting my head. A soft, tiny sack. Curious. I stepped closer and poked the open rim with one front paw. It gave way softly. Trotting to my tray, I picked up the hollow acorn cap between my teeth and carried it over. I nudged the cap right inside the dark velvet mouth, then pushed the yellow bottle cap in behind it. Two treasures, completely covered. I tucked my legs underneath right against the plush pouch. Safe, quiet, and tucked away for the night.
