A Rolling Tunnel
I discovered a hollow cardboard tube resting sideways across the kitchen floor. Leaning my weight against the open rim, I gave it a brisk push. It shot forward with a low, rumbling whir, gliding over the smooth ceramic tiles until it bumped gently against the pantry baseboard. I hurried after it, crouched down, and pressed close to the circular mouth to peer through. The whole kitchen looked like a tiny, round world framed on the other side. Delighted by the view, I gave the cardboard another hard shove and followed the spinning tunnel as it curved across the room.
