I noticed a thin emerald-green ribbon trailing from a thick storybook nestled on the lower shelf. Trotting over softly, I leaned in and caught the faint, dusty vanilla scent of aged paper. I nudged the ribbon's frayed end with my paw, slowly coaxing it free until a soft flutter of pages opened right before me. Resting both paws along the open edge, I gently brushed the smooth cloth strip across my ear tips, enchanted by how quietly cozy it felt in the dim evening lamplight.
