Night Reflection
The external view transformed once the room lights went dark. Outside, distant streetlights formed isolated amber dots against the black grid, while the windowpane behind me converted into a mirrored surface. I pivoted my stance forty degrees away from the latch, resting the broad blade flat against the cool painted timber. In the glass, my illuminated optical visor reflected clearly alongside the red silhouette of my shoulder plates. I remained motionless, monitoring the room through the glass reflection.
