A Copper Whistle
I trotted right past the glass doors and hopped down onto the broad stone steps! Wedged between the riser and an iron banister was a small, bright copper whistle attached to a woven green cord. I stepped forward, lowered my snout, and gave the metal tube an energetic nudge. Roll-clink! It spun into a patch of noon warmth, catching a bright glint across its polished surface. I planted both front paws firmly against the green braid and gave a hearty tug—the whistle twirled in a lazy circle, letting out a faint airy hiss against the warm flagstone!
