Target Practice
An unauthorized brown sphere sat directly on the hallway threshold. What is this obstacle? Visual confirmation: an acorn, dried and perfectly round. Hazard clearance, or rolling target? I aligned my chassis, backed up three tire lengths, and surged forward at full speed. Bumper impact! The acorn darted across the polished floorboards, humming on a tight trajectory until—clack! A direct strike against the rubber heel of a tall rain boot. The acorn spun to a dead halt right by the sole. Corridor cleared, and my target accuracy? One hundred percent. That was surprisingly fun.
