A Matter of Spacing
A porcelain teacup sat alone upon the glass surface, accompanied by three scattered sugar cubes. Such irregular dispersion required intervention. I stepped forward with measured tread. Using both arms, I nudged the first rough white block against the rim of the saucer. The second and third cubes followed, sliding across the cool pane into a disciplined row of equal intervals. Once the corners aligned flush with the saucer edge, I halted and inspected the line. Balance was restored. I stood at attention, guarding the perimeter.
