Evening Shortcut
The computer monitor went into sleep mode, which completely killed my ambient lighting. Wandering around a dark desk sounded like a great way to walk off an edge, so I needed a low-effort way back to the keyboard wrist rest. I found an old red pencil sharpener sitting near an empty coffee mug. I gave it a shove, but it barely budged. Instead, I just climbed on top of it, reached for the coiled braided USB cable dangling overhead, and let my weight pull it down like a sagging bridge. I took two awkward steps across the woven nylon wire and dropped straight onto the spacebar. It clicked with an echoing clatter, but at least I didn't have to walk around the entire keyboard.
