A Snip and a Spin

Trailing my brown twine loop across the potting bench, I bumped right into a heavy pair of cast-iron garden shears leaning beside a clay pot! Squeak! I gave the cold iron handle an eager, bouncy nudge—clack! The stiff blades snapped shut with a sharp snip, slicing right through the dangling strand of jute hitched around my belly. Zing! The cut end fell away onto the bench with a dry rustle, leaving me suddenly weightless! Without that heavy trailing tail pulling me down, I drifted straight up toward the sunlit glass window, bobbing in giddy, buoyant spins with just my little green lime badge along for the ride!
