Taking the Ridge
Stiffness left my limbs. The rifle leveled as my fingers tightened on the stock. Beneath my base, the terrain felt soft and shifting, draped in waves of vivid green cloth. I shifted my weight forward, pushing down on an incline to test the footing. The fabric yielded, forming a shallow crest beneath me. I held position, steadying my aim across the rolling folds. The high ground is secured.
