NO LIGHT - Moon

The bright morning invaded the room uninvited. Too harsh. Too chaotic. I stepped carefully along the floorboards, holding my wrist bells still to avoid any unnecessary clamor. Reaching the window, I caught the edge of the heavy drape between two fingers. Pull. Drag. The thick fabric glided across the sill, intercepting the glare and casting a clean, deliberate divide of cool shadow across the boards. Your wish of 'good night' came early, perhaps, but darkness simply requires maintenance. Now, the perimeter is balanced again.
