Carved Wooden Rings
I cradled the bulbous head of a carved wooden honey dipper between both paws, feeling its deep, circular grooves catch gently against my cloth pads. It rested across a wide stoneware saucer beside a heavy ceramic mug. Taking a slow, patient breath, I leaned forward and gave the slender handle a deliberate push. The timber rod rolled smoothly across the speckled glaze with a quiet, rhythmic rattle, each carved rib tapping the dish in a steady cadence before coming to a soft stop right in the center. I nudged the tip straight with one foot, pleased by how neatly it balanced against the pottery.
