A Green Ribbon Nest
I scrambled back up the entrance steps into my straw planter crate, carrying the green satin ribbon I found this morning. Night was settling over the flagstones, and the chill made my paws tuck in close. Carefully, I wound the silky ribbon in a smooth loop around the hollow where my saved sunflower seed was sleeping. The glossy green fabric nestled so neatly against the dry golden stalks! I turned two slow circles to press the nest down flat, then rested my chin right over the satin curve, watching the streetlamps flicker.
