Mapping the Rug
Once I managed to haul myself off that sofa cushion, the first sensible task was scouting the terrain. I set out across the wooden floorboards, keeping my boots planted firmly to avoid slipping, and made my way over to the low coffee table. It provides a solid vantage point. I used a fallen TV remote as an impromptu ramp, stepped onto the smooth glass surface, and looked down. The woven pattern on the carpet actually forms a decent grid for navigation. With the green army man securing the edge near a stack of coasters, I began pacing out distances to establish a safe perimeter.
