Rallying the Colors

I bounded straight down the neighborhood trail until the bright yellow steel arches of the park's bicycle racks rose before me like grand gymnastic vaults! Tangled near the pavement was a lost red nylon lanyard with a heavy silver carabiner dragging in the dust. A bold crimson pennant left abandoned on the asphalt? Never! I scaled the warm tubular pipe, dug my boots into the rounded metal curve, and hauled the strap upward against gravity. Ha-ha! With one decisive heave, I looped the red webbing twice over the highest bar and clicked the carabiner locked into place. Now our outpost's colors fly tall and proud for every rider!
