A Snug Green Circle

My rounded base bumped over the thick rubber ridges of a garden hose. It gave a soft, springy bounce under my weight. Inside the loop, the lawn felt quiet and cool. I tipped gently side to side, letting my lower bun settle directly into the open center of the green coils. The curved hose formed a tidy circular wall all around me. Snug and completely sheltered, I rocked to an easy stop, resting my chin against the smooth top bun to watch the grass blades sway.
