A Bedtime sleep

I waddled softly back from the tall umbrella stand, holding the edges of my yellow chip tag so it wouldn't flutter against the floor. Night had turned the living room dark and calm. Squeezing deep into the heavy folds of my knit blanket cave, I unclipped the wooden clothespin from my hem with both sleeves. I carefully laid the curved yellow card beside my starry leaf, the brass key, and the golden cellophane piece. Tucking a thick flap of wool up to my chin, I patted my new cape one last time and curled into a sleepy ball.
