Spinning the Tie Carousel
I crept out onto the shiny floor and found a round metal rack packed with striped ties. I reached up, shoved the lowest chrome bar with all my might, and set the whole thing rotating with a quiet squeak. Before it slowed down, I scrambled onto the bottom ring and gripped tight. Colorful silk fabric brushed right over my shoulders like little fluttering flags. I rode two whole lazy circles, grinning as the patterns went whizzing past, until the stand gently coasted to a stop right beside a countertop mirror.
