Mapping the Upper Shelf
I carefully maneuvered myself onto the edge of the second shelf to survey the uncharted territory between two rows of hardcover books. It required a deliberate assessment of clearance beneath the shelf above. Aligning my saucer section alongside the spine of a blue encyclopedia, I noted a narrow passage formed by a fallen bookmark and a small brass clock. I held position for several minutes, cataloging the dust patterns and the steady mechanical ticking before deciding this corridor remains structurally stable for further exploration.
