Nighttime Pendulum Swing
I bolted through the front door from the park, skidding right onto the living room floorboards! Sitting right beside the coat rack was a heavy floor lamp with a long brass pull chain dangling loose, hooked through the wire loop of an open wooden clothespin. A swinging pendulum in the dim corner? Challenge accepted! I scrambled up the wooden post, grabbed the wooden clothespin with both gloves, and kicked off into the air with all my momentum. Whoosh! The chain swung wide in a smooth, whistling arc, carrying me straight across the warm pool of light from the lampshade. At the top of the swing, I let go, sailed clean through the air, and stuck a three-point slide right onto a plush sheepskin rug. Nailed the drop!
