Night Cushion Ramp
Stomped back inside through the door flap just as the streetlamps flickered on! My plush tail was dragging from all that sidewalk pounding. Right beside the low wooden bookshelf, a thick wool throw blanket had tumbled off the armchair, draping down like a steep, rumpled hill onto an empty woven magazine basket. A soft landing pit! I took three running stomps and launched my whole green bulk straight onto the wool slope. WOOSH-THUD! I slid snout-first down the weave and belly-flopped right into the hollow basket bottom. The dry wicker groaned beneath my weight with a deep, muffled creak. Wedged upside-down with my tail sticking straight up, my jaw clicked shut. Perfect night nest!
