Sprinkles yellow hood
A soft yellow mesh sleeve from an Asian pear had tumbled onto the polished counter tiles. I shuffled past the bay leaf on the window ledge and dropped down beside the wide wooden bowl. I paused, watching the diamond-shaped webbing catch the afternoon glow. Instead of squeezing under the heavy bowl, I nudged my round plush body into the stretchy hollow of the mesh collar. Resting my stubby arm over a spongy foam strand, I felt its springy cushion push back gently against my yarn loops in the midday hush.
