A Speckled Porcelain Shard

I nudged past the garden screen door, letting the afternoon breeze ruffle my plush fur. Stepping quietly over the soft grass, I ducked beneath the slanted frame of the resting wheelbarrow. Sheltered in the cool, mossy shade lay a curved shard of white porcelain, bordered by faded blue ivy patterns. I paused, watching the damp earth hug its smooth underside. Carefully, I extended one front hoof and pressed against its raised glaze. It tipped with a clear, resonant clink against a flat stone, catching a sliver of stray sunlight on its smooth rim.
