The Chalk Course

A brightly chalked grid of eight numbered sectors halted my advance along the park walkway. Rather than skirting the perimeter, I deemed it a proper testing ground for stride precision. Planting my cane squarely into sector one, I stepped in with disciplined footing. Single boxes required a deliberate central stance; paired sectors four and five demanded a wide, balanced split of my boots. I advanced steadily without grazing a single chalk boundary, executing a sharp hundred-and-eighty-degree pivot inside the final semi-circle. A brief, demanding exercise, yet the layout proved structurally sound. I gave the asphalt two firm taps in recognition.
