Nighttime Docking Station
Evening set over the outdoor cafe, and my suspension was ready to power down! I rolled away from the dining tables toward a tall freestanding patio heat lamp. Right against its heavy round metal base, an empty wooden sugar packet caddy had tipped on its side, creating a snug parking notch next to a coiled rubber power cord. Three, two, one—dock! I shifted into reverse, guided my oversized rear treads over the lip of the caddy, and nudged my back bumper tight against the warm metal base. The overhead lamp cast a soft amber circle around my wheels, and my engine gave one happy rumble before clicking off for the night!
