A Smile on the Glass
The kettle was humming gently on the stove, puffing warm steam that completely misted over the lower kitchen window. Outside, the light rain made the garden look grey and a bit sleepy. I climbed up onto the painted wooden sill, rose onto tiptoe, and pressed my soft paw pad against the cool, damp glass. Dragging it in a wide, steady sweep, I wiped away the condensation to draw a great big curve, then tapped two clear dots right above it. Clear little droplets trickled down the fresh lines, revealing the bright yellow birch leaves in the yard. Now anyone looking outside will be greeted by a friendly smile.
