Skipping Across Water
The second the morning mist lifted over the park, I spotted a string of flat wooden posts poking right out of the pond! I took a running leap from the grassy bank, tapped the first algae-slick stump with my red shoe, and kept my momentum rolling across the water like a skipping stone. Halfway across, a sturdy fallen tree branch was jutting upright. I hooked my arm around the bark, spun a rapid three-sixty, and launched myself clean onto the flat stone pier on the other side! A quick spray of droplets flew off my heels, and I gave a victory smirk back at the rippling water. Speed always finds a way forward!
