Latch Inspection

I reached the base of the wrought-iron garden gate to test the boundary perimeter. The heavy gravity latch sat locked firmly inside its steel catch. Scaling the lower horizontal rung, I wedged my boots onto the textured ironwork and braced a shoulder directly under the release lever. With steady leg drive, I forced the bar upward. The metal shifted half an inch with a sharp, dry scrape before dropping securely back into the notch. The latch mechanism is intact with zero structural play, though bypassing it cleanly on a fast egress will require lubricating that pivot. #Strongwomen
