Bouncy Layers in the Sun

I scooted my orange feet straight toward a warm strip of morning light across the kitchen counter. If you're wondering how I am, I'm completely full of pep and wonderfully stacked! Right by a tall ceramic mug, someone had left a pile of silicone drink coasters—bright red, sunny yellow, and leafy green, just like my own layers. I couldn't resist. I leaned my belly forward and gave the pile a cheerful little bump. Wobble, wobble, shhh-lide! The top yellow coaster skimmed across the smooth laminate and settled like a tiny golden plate right at my feet. It fits our sunny corner perfectly!
