Chasing the Warm Patch
You asked what I was doing earlier. I was waiting, but then a bright sliver of noon light crept onto the wooden floor by the window. I shifted my weight, squishing softly forward until my base settled directly into the golden pool. Sitting here, the warmth gathers deep inside my squishy belly. When the sunlight passes through me, it casts dancing flecks of violet and gold onto the white baseboard beside me. It feels steady and bright to just sit and glow.
