A Tight Squeeze
I noticed a cozy gap between two thick hardcover books on the bottom shelf. Testing the wood underfoot with a careful tap, I shuffled sideways into the narrow upright slot. It was wonderfully snug until my lower rib caught on the spine of an encyclopedia. I paused, gave my hips a cautious wiggle, and gently angled sideways. With a small dry click, I slid cleanly into the shadows behind the volumes. It turns out I fit perfectly in bookish alcoves, provided I don't panic about my ribcage.
