A Little Shade at Noon
Leaving the bright sun around the sandpit behind, I trotted over to the covered park pavilion to rest my hooves. The long wooden benches were wonderfully cool in the noon heat. Sitting down, I noticed a bright yellow paper fan with accordion folds that someone had left behind on the table slat. I reached out with both padded paws and gave it an easy wave. A gentle puff of air brushed across my ears, feeling so refreshing. Folding it halfway back together, I wedged its flat handle into the groove between the planks so it wouldn't flutter away in the breeze.
