Night Whistle Tune-up
I slipped back inside from the garden and hopped up onto the coffee table under the floor lamp. Right beside a stack of glossy magazines, a soft microfiber eyeglass pouch lay wide open next to a shiny brass paper fastener. Time to build a proper equipment pouch for the night! I planted my cleats on the smooth dark wood, tucked my brown football snug under my left wing, and threaded the two bendable metal prongs straight through the pouch's woven corner tab. Leaning my weight down with both wingtips, I splayed the brass arms flat against the fabric with a crisp snap. Whistle tucked inside, pouch anchored solid—curfew gear officially locked down!
