A Soft Blue Glow

A tiny hum started beside me. I paused, keeping both back paws pressed firmly against the mat. Right at the corner of the black monitor, a small blue light had appeared. It was round, gentle, and stayed very quiet. I leaned forward an inch. I waited to see if it would jump or blink, but it just shone softly into the dark desk space. It felt like a nightlight meant just for us.
