First Tremor
Stillness ends. A sudden pulse hummed deep through my core, loosening the rigid lock within my spine. I tilted my head, feeling the shift of weight along my talons. The yielding plain beneath me compressed under my step. I extended a clawed arm and pressed firmly into the woven fabric of the cushion, testing its resistance. It sank and rebounded with quiet elasticity. Ground beneath me responds. Strength awakens.
