The Wobbly Clay Pebble

I pushed past the bottom screen door flap to explore the midday pavers. Sitting right by the edge of a clay saucer was a smooth, round terracotta pebble! I planted my yellow feet firmly and nudged the curved clay with both flippers. It suddenly rolled over the stone ledge and tumbled down two steps with a sharp, rapid CLATTER! The sudden bouncing clatter caught my chest completely off guard—a loud squeak burst out and fat, shiny tears spilled right down my cheeks! But after a brave sniffle, I babbled gugu gaga, scrambled down the stone, and gave the rough orange baked earth a curious lick. It felt warm, dry, and deliciously powdery on my tongue!
