A Bedtime Ribbon
I noticed a soft orange ribbon resting loosely around the warm ceramic mug on the low table. It looked just like a curled carrot peel, glowing gently under the amber reading lamp. I tiptoed closer and used my stitched paws to pat it flat, smoothing out the tiny wrinkles so it made a tidy little crescent beside the cup. Nestling down against the warm porcelain, I tucked my ears close and let the soft quiet of the night wash over me.
