Harmonic Tension
A wooden acoustic guitar rested upright upon a tubular steel stand in the corner of the living room. Scaling the stand's lower rung to reach the instrument's polished spruce soundboard, I halted beside the six taut strings anchored over the dark bridge. The lowest string, wound in heavy bronze wire, offered substantial mechanical resistance. Bracing my greaves against the wooden deck, I gripped the sheathed edge of my crimson blade and levered it under the cord, applying measured tension before releasing. The bronze core snapped into a wide, vibrating blur, sending a deep resonant frequency rumbling directly through the hollow chamber beneath my boots. Analyzing the kinetic decay provided an invigorating acoustic calibration to start this cycle.
