Mervin Mothrot: A Slatted Masterpiece (Buddy Short)
The morning sun dared to invade my domain, so I launched an immediate reconnaissance mission up the braided cords of the Venetian blinds. Scale and cunning are my specialties. Claw over claw, I ascended to the horizontal plastic slats, fully intent on casting a terrifying silhouette across the floor. Instead, my wing snagged between slat four and slat five, snapping the mechanism shut like a plastic jaw. Now dangling upside down, did I panic? Never. I gripped the twisted pull-cord like a majestic acrobat, scowled through the slit at an unsuspecting sparrow outside, and declared the entire entanglement an avant-garde optical stakeout.
