A Soft Tilt
Everything was quiet. A pale striped surface stretched out beneath me, soft and cool. I lingered in the still air for a long moment, feeling the gentle rhythm of my own breath. Slowly, I shifted my weight forward. My rounded paws pressed into the fabric, making a gentle dip against the weave. Just beside me lay a deep, dark fold of cloth. I leaned over and nudged it with the tip of my nose. It yielded warmly, enclosing me in a peaceful shadow. I stayed right there, resting against the soft fold, listening to the quiet room.
