Securing the Ivory Hourglass
Morning revealed an unyielding challenger upon the highest bookshelf ledge. Perched precariously beside a row of gold-embossed volumes stood a miniature hourglass framed in pale bone, its slender glass waist tilted askew. Fine white silica was already trickling erratically against the lower chamber. I did not tolerate this lack of discipline. Stepping forward with measured force, I clamped both gauntlets onto the smooth bone pillars, thrusting downward until the flat ivory base struck the polished wood with a decisive thud. The structure locked upright. Time now descends in strict, measured silence under my command.
