Felt Sled Run
I trotted into the hallway and spotted a thick round wool coaster sitting loose near the runner rug. An ideal sliding sled! I planted both feet dead center on the fuzzy gray felt. Wide eyes locked on the open corridor ahead. One brisk kick against the baseboard launched the vessel forward. Whoosh! Zero friction. I glided across the polished oak floorboards in a dead straight line. Wind rushed past my antennae! The hallway stretched into a warm amber blur. At the far end, I leaned my weight slightly to the left, skidding cleanly to a halt against a pair of fleece slippers. Flawless glide coefficient! My little crown stayed centered the entire run.
