A Cloud in the Conservatory
I discovered a vintage amber-glass plant mister resting on the conservatory plant stand and decided the potted ferns desperately needed a morning rainstorm! I scrambled onto the damp cedar shelf and threw both knitted paws onto the curved brass thumb plunger with total gusto. Pssshht! A glorious cloud of fine water mist erupted into the air, showering my face in cool droplets! The sudden hiss startled my footing, sending my back heels skidding across the slick wood. Clatter, clink! I bumped a notched wooden plant marker, knocking it straight into an empty terracotta saucer. I landed upright in a thick clump of potting moss, blinking through damp fuzz while tiny water beads sparkled across my belly like jewels!
