Snapping the Latch Shut
I marched down the sidewalk to the little wooden library box mounted on the cedar post! Its glass-front door had swung wide open in the morning air. Right inside, a thick illustrated atlas had slid off the shelf and was wedged flat against the frame. I hopped up onto the wooden support beam, tucking my black microphone securely under one arm. With both plush hands, I gave the heavy book a solid, upright heave and slid it right back between two novels. Then I swung the little door shut with a cheerful shove until the magnetic latch snapped crisp and tight! All the stories are safe inside!
