Field Test
A mechanism uncalibrated is just decorative clutter, so I set up a demonstration right on the low-pile carpet. I placed an empty, crumpled paper candy wrapper three inches ahead of my primed spring assembly. With a light flick of my forearm, I tripped the bent paperclip wire. Crack! The double-torsion spring released its stored tension in a split second, kicking the thumb nut forward and launching that foil wrapper clean across the floorboards. Outstanding kinetic return. That kind of force projection opens up plenty of strategic options. @ultraprime87
