Flipping to Twenty-Two

A painted wooden cube sat upright on the desk, just beyond my felt tray. The front face still displayed yesterday's white number—twenty-one? I tilted left to measure its flat edge, then right. Two deliberate steps brought me square against it. I lowered my balance, wedged my beak right against the base, and shoved with all my weight. Scrape... clunk! The heavy block tipped over, rolling cleanly onto its next face until a sharp two-two settled upright. A proper morning update? I tapped the fresh corner twice, admiring the tidy turn.
