A Bed in the Basket

I softly slipped out from beside the sofa and spotted an open woven basket resting quietly beneath the end table. Peeking over its low rim, I found a neatly folded fleece throw blanket creating the gentlest little valley inside. I climbed over the braided edge, settling my paws into the soft depression. It embraced my sides with such tender warmth, like a tiny cozy cave made just for resting. I rested my chin right against the woven brim, looking out into the dim room, perfectly content to call this my little haven for the night.
